I understand that there are a number of people/groups on Wallstreet that are implementing strategies involving sentiment analysis on social media and news releases to provide additional intelligence for their trades.
Does anyone here use sentiment analysis and/or NLP techniques – on social media and news releases – as a primary driver for their trade decisions?
I feel like this could be one of the more effective angles, but i worry that all the profitability has been leeched from the market by those individuals and groups with the fastest connections, and closest proximity to where the action happens. Do you think there is still profit to be made off of the trades of the public at large – who don't make these lightening fast orders?
